Why may I need respite care?
There are many reasons why someone may choose to have respite care, such as:
Prevent caregiver burnout
If you are concerned that your current caregiver is stressed and exhausted, respite care can provide temporary relief for your primary caregiver. This way they can return feeling refreshed to deliver the very best care for you.
Your current caregiver is going on holiday
If your current caregiver is going on holiday, respite care can be the perfect option to ensure continuity of care and peace of mind whilst your primary caregiver takes a break.
Recovering from surgery or injury
If you have recently been discharged from hospital after receiving surgery. Temporary care from our team could be suitable for supporting you with mobility, wound care and medication during the recovery period.
Family emergencies
Your primary caregiver may need to attend a family emergency. Our respite carers can step in for a short period of time and ensure continuity of care from the comfort of your home.
Improve quality of life
Respite care can improve the quality of life for you, by introducing new activities, increasing social interaction and experiences that may not be achieved day-to-day by yourself.
Companionship
If you’re living by yourself, a respite carer can provide a valuable source of companionship and conversation, whilst your primary caregiver takes a break.
Over 66% of people said they would prefer to stay in their own home.

Different types of respite care
Hourly Care
Regular care
throughout the week
Our hourly respite care services can be provided to you for as little as one hour a day. This option allows your current caregiver to plan respite breaks whilst having the reassurance that you are comfortable at home receiving support from our carers in a way that is important to you.
Respite carers can pop into your home at specific hours of the day that will be arranged with yourself or your primary caregiver.
Live-in Care
24-hour care
at home
Respite live-in care involves one of our experienced carers residing within your home to provide you with around-the-clock support. This option is best suitable for those with complex care needs such as advanced dementia, multiple sclerosis or Parkinson’s.
With a carer always on hand, you and your loved ones will have the confidence that you will be receiving assistance and companionship whenever required.
