There are different types of home care available depending on a person’s needs. These can range from hourly visits to provide help with household tasks to live-in care with comprehensive medical management. What is home care?

Home care is professional support provided in your own home by carers, nurses, therapists or other healthcare professionals to help you continue living independently.

Home care, also known as domiciliary care, is often the first choice for people who are starting to struggle with day-to-day tasks. Whether due to old age, frailty, a chronic medical health condition or as a short-term measure following surgical intervention or illness, home care provides the support people need to continue living independently at home.

At Cherished Home Care, we offer different types of care in people’s homes, so no matter what your needs are, we can deliver the support you need to live independently. Our home care services range from hourly home care visits to help with daily chores like washing and dressing, making lunch or offering companionship to around-the-clock live-in care and complex care to help with specific medical conditions, such as dementia.

We are committed to providing the highest level of home care as we know it gives people the security, safety and confidence to continue living in the comfort of their own homes surrounded by the things they cherish.

Hourly care

Hourly care offers you the flexibility to receive care on an hourly basis that fits around your routine. This allows you to continue to do the things you love, like seeing relatives or enjoying your garden, while getting the support you need.

At Cherished Home Care, hourly care can be fully tailored to your needs. It involves carers visiting you at home for as little as one hour per day, three times a week, to multiple hourly visits per day if needed.

Live-in care

Live-in care is when a carer moves into your home to provide around-the-clock care so that you can retain your independence in the comfort of your home. It is an alternative option to moving into a care home, and means you don’t have to go through the stress of moving but get the bespoke care you need.

A live-in carer will provide support with day-to-day tasks and medication management and will also be a source of companionship you can rely on.

Our live-in care is designed to be centred around your needs, so we will work with you to match you with a suitable carer who is fully trained to provide whatever support you require.

Complex care

Complex care is a specialist form of care that is provided to people with complex medical needs in their own homes. Complex care at home is suitable for people with ongoing health issues, a disability, a progressive disease or after receiving treatment in a hospital.

Complex carers are often required to undertake medical interventions, such as PEG feeding or catheter care, to support those they are caring for. At Cherished Home Care, all of our complex carers are fully trained to perform these tasks with dignity and compassion, so you can rest assured that you are in caring hands.

As with all the types of care we offer, complex care can be fully tailored to your specific needs to guarantee that you can continue to live a fulfilling life.

Dementia care

Dementia care at home provides people with the support they need to be able to continue living in a place that is familiar to them. Our dementia carers are specially trained in best practice dementia care, to ensure that they are equipped to provide meaningful and caring support.

We understand that dementia is a progressive condition and that care needs may change over time. That’s why we offer fully tailored dementia care that is reviewed regularly to ensure that you can continue to thrive in the home you love.

Companionship care

Research shows that loneliness can have a huge impact on our mental and physical well-being. With companionship care, our carers can pop in at agreed times to provide company at home when you need it most. But our carers can also provide companionship to help you get out and about, whether that’s for a walk in your local park or accompanying you to visit your favourite coffee shop.

Respite care

Respite care is a short-term care solution to provide help at home. It could be during a time when your usual carer is on holiday or sick or to provide support following a hospital stay.

Respite care can be personalised to your specific requirements, whether through multiple daily visits, providing medical interventions to support your recuperation from hospital discharge or offering companionship while your usual carer is away.

Personal care

Personal care involves a carer providing support with your day-to-day personal needs, like washing, toileting and dressing. At Cherished Home Care, we know how important support with these tasks is for some people to continue to live independently, so we will work with you and your family to agree on the right level of personal care support.

In addition, you can rest assured that all of our carers are fully trained to deliver first-class personal care services that provide the dignity and respect you deserve.
